The Atlanta Braves still have a question mark at third base and Mike Moustakas remains on the open market. Still it doesn seem like the two are likely to get together anytime soon. The free agent market as a whole has depressed signings and the prevailing thought is that players like Moustakas may have to take far less than they were expecting. Even with that, MLB Mark Bowman reports that Moustakas doesn seem like a fit for the Braves who are feeling a payroll pinch after taking on substantial salary from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Matt Kemp trade http://www.bravesteamfanstore/Bob-Uecker-Jersey. Now that Spring Training has started, there further reason to wonder what kind of offer Moustakas might eventually have to accept. But there essentially no chance he would be willing to accept what could be offered by the Braves, who have been financially strapped since adding $21.5 million worth of payroll expenses via the December trade that sent Matt Kemp to the Dodgers Gordon Beckham Jersey. As Bowman points out, trading Kemp in the manner that the team did was about providing financial flexibility for next offseason. The by-product of that is less wiggle room this season. That likely takes them out of the running for big names like Moustakas but maybe also guys like Eduardo Nunez whom they have been rumored to be interested in as well.
